Choose a study to focus on and a theory that it can explain,
Give a brief summary of the study
Explain the theory or model you are exploring in detail.
Connect the study and theory together
Explain the aim of the study and why it is significant/ worth exploring
Provide the operationalized independent variable and dependent variable
Provide the research hypothesis and null hypothesis.
Exploration
Explain the procedures of the experiment you replicated (It is okay to change some things from the original study)
Explain the reserach design you used and why.
Explain the sampling method used (ex: Convience Sampling) and why you chose that.
Explain in detail the sample that was used and relevant information about the participants; Explain why you asked the participants the specific questions prior to the experiment.
Explain what you controlled for in the experiment, how, and why.
Analysis
Provide a table for descriptive statistics with central tendency (mean, median, or mode) and dispersion (range, stand dev, or interquartile range)
Summarize how you measured your DV.
Explain and Summarize the results from the table, what they mean, and their significance.
Prvoide your interpretation of the results based on your hypothesis.
Provide the graph of your results that includes your measure of central tendency (this can include the mean)
Inferential Statistics: Explain if your data was unrelated (independent samples design) or related (repeated measures design). State your level of measurment is at least ordinal so you chose to use either Mann-Whitney U Test (Independent Samples) or Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test (Repeated Measures)
On a Mann Whitney U Test: Calculate U value, critical value based on n^3 value, and the P value
If doing a Wilcoxon Test, calculate the W value, critical value based on n^5, U value, and P value.
Either accept or reject the null hypothesis.
Evaluation
Explain how the results of your study compare to the original.
Explain how the results relate to your theory or model.
Provide a Strength and Limitation for the Design, Sample, and Procedure.
The limitation should not include researcher error.
